A Phone Call That Started a Dance Adventure
Every great dance performance has to start somewhere. For Yo and Yvonne, it all began with a simple phone call… and a very curious little dog.
Yo was relaxing on her bed wearing a red sleeveless shirt and light blue denim shorts while her tiny four-legged companion rested happily beside her. Just as she reached over to pet the dog, her phone rang. It was Yvonne, calling from her kitchen, where she stood in a black shirt, light blue denim shorts, and her favorite black sling bag.
“Yo, are you free today?” Yvonne asked. “Always! What’s up?” Yo replied. Laughing, Yvonne admitted she needed help learning a dance routine before she forgot her left foot from her right. Without hesitation, Yo invited her over for a fun dance workshop at home.
Learning the Routine Together
Not long afterward, Yvonne arrived, and the two friends sat down to plan their dance demo. They talked about the music, timing, footwork, and how to avoid accidentally bumping into each other during the routine. Their tiny dog wandered between them as if volunteering to become the official dance coach.
“I think we have our first audience,” Yo joked as the little companion watched every move with great interest.
When planning was finished, it was time for an outfit change. Yo changed into sleek black shiny wetlook leggings, while Yvonne chose stylish gray shiny wetlook leggings. Ready to begin, Yo smiled and said, “Lesson one: don’t count the mistakes count the laughs.”
Practice Makes Every Step Better
Yo demonstrated each movement slowly, carefully explaining every step, turn, and bit of footwork. Yvonne followed along with determination, sometimes getting everything exactly right and sometimes inventing completely new dance moves by accident.
“I don’t think that spin was in the choreography,” Yo laughed. “It is now!” Yvonne replied, making them both burst into laughter before continuing the lesson.
With each practice, their timing improved and their confidence grew. Before long, they were dancing side by side with smiles on their faces while their tiny canine spectator watched from the edge of the room. When the music finally stopped, they celebrated with a cheerful high-five, realizing that the best dance lessons aren’t about perfect routines they’re about friendship, encouragement, shared laughter, and enjoying every step together.
